OUR TEAM

Hi, I’m shannon mCcain!

I’m the new owner of The Pet Nanny In-Home Pet Sitters! I’ve lived in Tucson practically my whole life, and always been an animal lover. I currently have 3 dogs, 3 cats and a tortoise. I’ve worked in the animal care industry since I was young, with experience working at a local vet clinic and boarding facility for over a decade. It has always been a dream of mine to open my own pet sitting business and I came across the perfect opportunity when I found The Pet Nanny!

The Pet Nanny was started in 2010 by Teresa Bruner, a friend of the animal community. Since then, The Pet Nanny has grown to become the highest-quality in-home professional pet care company in the Tucson area, of which we are extremely humbled and grateful to be. Over the years, we’ve responded to the needs and worries of busy and travel-inspired Tucson pet owners who were looking for someone to provide the peace of mind they needed while they were away. After almost 12 years of running The Pet Nanny, Teresa decided it was time to step away and start a new chapter of her life by selling the business.

I have been working closely with Teresa to make this a seamless transition and I am so grateful for how much I have learned from her. I am excited for this new opportunity and to continue to offer the same high quality in-home pet sitting services the pet community has come to expect from The Pet Nanny! The bond built between an animal and their caregiver and the comfort we provide them is my favorite aspect of pet sitting. I look forward to meeting our fabulous clients and their furbabies and caring for them when their owners can’t be there….Even though my own animals will be super jealous when I get home!

Jeannie T.

I’ve lived in the Tucson since 2006 and have a great passion for the Sonoran Desert. I grew up in Florida but I’m very happy to call Arizona my home. My other great passion is my love of animals! Especially Dogs. I’ve had Birds, Cats and Dogs my whole life and my last three and current one is a little Yorkshire Terrier, Elsi.  I  would love to someday establish a Yorkie and small dog rescue in memory of the ones I’ve loved. To pamper and care for the way mine were.  I’m honored to have the opportunity to sit with, love, and care for your pet.

Dara R.

I’m a third generation Arizona Native and a lover of all animals. I really enjoy working with The Pet Nanny where I care for each pet I visit with love and respect. I have had many pets over the years including dogs, turtles, fish, snakes, and birds. I am a proud mother of two daughters and two dogs. My pets are members of the family and are nearly always found on my lap or right by my side.

Esmeralda

Hi, my name is Esmeralda! I’m an energetic animal lover and I’m ready to be your furbabie’s new pal. I currently work at a local vet clinic where I’ve had the chance to meet and learn about all different breeds. Each time I take care of your baby, I will show them as much love and fun as my own, giving them anything they need. I will cuddle, play or walk them, anything to keep that purring going or tail wagging! I look forward to caring for your babies.

Mackenzie F.

I’m a Tucson native recently relocated back to the Old Pueblo after 5 years in D.C., followed by a year in Santa Fe, NM. In my free time, I enjoy running, playing tennis, and experiencing the great outdoors. I’m the proud owner of a spirited corgi, Luna, who provides no shortage of laughs. I look forward to meeting you and your pets!

Gayle S.

I am a retired elementary school teacher. I love and have worked with pets my entire life. I have experience with animals from the tiniest 3 lb. Teacup Chihuahua to the goliath 130 lb. Great Dane. I have a special place in my heart for abandoned animals and animals with high needs. I have adopted 2 tripod dogs and other animals with varying levels of medical needs. I truly care for all living creatures and will go above and beyond to make sure they are cared for well. My current fur babies are both rescues, Tillie and Rogue. I look forward to taking care of your precious fur baby!

Steve M.

Hi, I’m Steve and I’m a native Tucsonan and father to 2 teenage boys and 1 little girl. I’ve had animals most of my life and currently have 2 dogs, 2 cats and a desert tortoise. I seem to make fast friends with all animals and enjoy both dogs and cats! I’m excited to care for your pets and get to know them and let you enjoy your time away, knowing they’re in good hands.

Stephanie G.

I am a retired elementary teacher and have lived in Tucson since 1999. I am a lifelong animal lover and devoted pet mom.  In the past we have had dogs, cats, rabbits, a bird, fish, lizards and desert tortoises. I have volunteered with and supported several rescue groups in Tucson. I currently have 4 dogs of my own. My pets are family members!   I look forward to meeting you and your pets!

Zandrea S.

I moved to Tucson in May 2021 from Cincinnati, Ohio, and I absolutely love it! I graduated with a BS in Biology (Spanish minor) and am in my first year of Vet School at UofA . I will earn my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2024.   I have extensive experience with animals such as working as a kennel technician,  as a veterinary receptionist, volunteering at the Cincinnati Zoo, Vet clinics, growing up with a variety of pets, and shadowing lots of veterinarians.   As a vet student, I would like you all to know that your pets are in great hands with us! All pets are cared for with upmost respect and care.

Debi W.

I’m happy to be a part of The Pet Nanny team. I have had and been involved with animals most of my life both domestic and wild.  Working at both national and local level humane societies and as a former vet tech, I understand how important the human-animal bond is and that pets are family.  My own pet family consists of three Aussies, Tess, Oz and Brodie, two cats, Latte and Tony and my beautiful horse Sedona.I look forward to taking care of your pet families as if they were my own.

Kacey O.

Hi! I’m Kacey, a Tucson native, elementary school teacher and lifelong animal lover. Growing up I had every pet… dogs, cats, parakeets, gerbils, chickens… you name it! These days it’s just me and my dog, Augie, but I still love taking care of all animals. Thank you for trusting me with your pets. I look forward to meeting you and your animals
soon!

Kit L.

British born, but recently moved to Tucson to melt in the heat. I love to travel, and anything to do with the ocean……obviously the desert was the perfect choice to settle down 🙂 I also have the best road trip buddy in my 10 year old dachshund Rory.  Though she can be a bit of a diva, she’s very much a big softie and loves her cuddles. I’ve always had a love of animals, and it seems they feel the same as most tend to gravitate to me, either wanting cuddles or to strike a pose for the inevitable photo op. I’ve looked after pups that need special care knowing that “a spoon full of peanut butter helps the medicine go down”. I’ve rubbed many furry bellies both here in Tucson and back in the UK, and look forward to meeting your fur baby for many more pets and kisses.

Guadalupe S.

Hi, my name is Lupe! I moved to Tucson, AZ in 2019 from Los Angeles, CA. I’ve been working in the animal field since 2012. I began as a kennel attendant, to Veterinary Assistant/Technician, and now working for the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Arizona. I have a great passion for animals of any kind. Growing up, I’ve had dogs, cats, over 100 birds, turtles, pocket pets and reptiles. I’m currently a pet mom of 2 dogs, 2 cats, 1 bird, 1 guinea pig, 1 cornsnake, and 1 Sulcata tortoise. At the College of Veterinary Medicine, I work with large animals such as horses, cattle, and sheep as well. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology and hope to apply to Veterinary School in the future. Working with The Pet Nanny, I’ll treat all pets as if they were my own. I’ll show them love, care, respect and make sure they have fun while I’m with them. I look forward to meeting and caring for your babies.

Chris U.

Hi, I’m Chris! I’m a Tucson native and enjoy music and art. I have had a lot of experience with animals over the years, caring for dogs, cats and chickens. I currently have one senior cat of my own, who keeps me entertained with her shenanigans! I’m happy to be a part of The Pet Nanny team and I look forward to spending time with your kiddos and seeing what kind of fun we can get into together.

Sue Ann W.

Hi, I’m Sue Ann and recently retired. I’ve lived in Tucson for over 8 years, but have been a long time Southern Arizona resident. I’ve had both cats and dogs in my life, for my whole life. I can’t imagine being without a furbaby to love. My current cats are Merlyn, a 5 year old shy tuxedo who is very vocal with me, and two new rambunctious additions, Gorm and Dearg who are 7 and 8 months! I have been a client of Pet Nanny for many years so it was a natural progression when I retired to come work with this team of dedicated professionals. I’m very excited to be here and look forward to adding to my furbaby family by loving and taking care of your kitties and doggies! When I’m not loving on my kitties I enjoy crocheting, reading, listening to music and volunteering for the Foster Care Review Board and Red Cross.

Jackie L.

I’m a native New Mexican and have lived in Tucson since 2002. I have over 12 years of experience professionally caring for animals. I worked at an animal sanctuary and most recently worked as a vet tech. My own “zoo” consists of four dogs, a tortoise, a betta fish, and a flock of English Budgies. I love meeting new animal friends and look forward to providing the best care for your furry family members.

Lori M.

I am a Tucson native and have owned dogs and cats my entire life. I have worked at veterinary clinics in Tucson and love to continue serving pets by working at The Pet Nanny. I am also experienced in caring for lizards and fish. At home I garden and care for my own animals; three Scottish Deerhounds, a beagle mix, and two very spirited semi-feral cats. I can’t wait to meet new pet friends and their owners and give them the best care!

Dependable, kind, and caring. I am completely confident when I leave home that my cats will not only have their basic needs met, they will also get personal attention as well. I receive daily texts with photos when I am out of town, this is so reassuring. I highly recommend The Pet Nanny.
